Common Interest Matrix

Purpose:
Provide students with a visual representation of the similarities and differences within a group.
Instruction:
- List students' names in the far left column
- Ask students to name their interests (to be listed in the slanted columns at the top of the matrix)
- Mark (X) the boxes in the matrix to denote a common interest among the students
- Use the information to help students:
- Recognize others with the same interests
- Make choices about whom to invite and play
- Start a conversation based on a common interest
