Occupational Therapist Jan Olsen has taken her 22 years of experience and formulated a simple, developmentally-based method of teaching that makes handwriting easy to learn. This "Handwriting Without Tears" method is especially designed for students with poor fine motor coordination.

Using old-fashioned slate boards and grey blocks, Jan Olsen uses her technique to prevent/correct reversals and build correct habits for writing. Children will enjoy her hands-on method of using the slate boards, small pieces of sponge, chalk, water and paper towels in practicing their writing skills. Her WET, DRY and TRY method is sure to appeal to visual, tactile and auditory learners. Her simple two lined writing paper, is terrific and will appeal to children who are easily confused by multi-lined & dotted writing paper so often used at school.
